Our Mesto Profi 3270 has a 10-litre capacity yellow, polyethylene tank with a 3 BAR maximum spraying pressure and a maximum flow rate of 1-litre per minute.

As with all of our Mesto sprayers, they are packaged in a brightly coloured box with plenty of good quality, informative photos and basic information. It is of a construction that is strong enough to both hold the sprayer and give some good protection to the unit.

Upon opening the box the first thing I looked for was an instruction manual and, once I got my hands on it, quite some instruction manual it is. In keeping with some of the other sprayers within the Mesto range, there are over 125 pages of instructions. Only 8 of them are in English but it is nice to get an instruction manual and this one tells you everything that you need to know from a welcome message and safety notices through technical information, assembly instructions, care & maintenance information and a faults guide. Having had a quick read, I decided it was time to have a look at the sprayer itself. Everything was nicely packed around the tank so to remove the sprayer from the box only required a gentle pull and wiggle on the handle and the tank lifted easily from the box. My first impression of the sprayer is that it looks like a robust piece of kit with nice bright colours and a big pump handle. I like the brass lance and nozzle and the 2.5-meter recoil hose. The coiled hose reduces the unused hose length to around 30cm so this is a nice space saving idea which also means that you are not going to get caught up in a long hose. I was slightly disappointed to see that the Profi didn’t have the integrated pressure gauge in the lance handle but that is saved for the 6 BAR sprayers.

After skimming through the instruction manual, the assembly didn’t look too difficult. There are only four parts to attach to the tank the shoulder strap, coiled hose, lance handle and lance. The shoulder strap is fed through the two slots in the rear of the top section with the black, plastic buckle used to hold the ends and adjust the strap length. TIP: feed the strap through the top of the first slot then up through the second slot. This way you don’t have to remove the buckle from the strap. The lance is easily threaded onto the lance handle and the hose connects to the handle and base of tank. TIP: I found the hose quite hard to push onto the lance handle so I dipped the end of the hose into hot water for a few moments and this softened it enough to make it far easier to attach.

The assembly only took a few minutes and wasn’t at all difficult. Remember that there are plenty of diagrams and instructions to help you so if something doesn’t make sense then go back to the instruction manual.

I was now ready to start spraying so I placed the tank on the floor and turned the tank handle anticlockwise and after a few turns pulled the central housing from the tank which allowed me to start filling. The design incorporates a nice wide filling area so spillages should be easy to keep to a minimum. I managed to fill the tank with no issues, replaced the housing and gently tightened it. I only needed to pump the tank handle a few times to bring it to full pressure and spraying was just as I would expect; a nice spray pattern was easily maintained. To release the pressure within the tank simply pull the small, red pressure release valve.

Draining of the tank was easy as the hose it attached at the base so, if you wish, you can simply unscrew the hose and the tank will fully drain.

I also connected, and used, the 5.4-metre telescopic lance with the sprayer. I used the in-line connector (which is a new addition to the range) which was easy to fit to the lance as it only required to be screwed on to the threaded end. To connect the sprayer hose simply unscrew the handle from the flow valve (also known as the spray gun) and screw it on to the in-line connector. Once attached, I pumped the tank and sprayed. Easy and very effective.

Can I use this sprayer with your telescopic lances?

Yes. This sprayer can be used with either our extra long 3.2-metre or 5.4-metre telescopic lances, as well as other lance extensions within our range. For either of the extra long telescopic lances you will need to purchase a connector. We have two different connectors either our connection hose or in-line connector.

Is there a benefit to having a recoil hose?

The Profi sprayer has a recoil hose which is quite unusual for compression sprayers, the majority of which have a standard hose configuration. The benefit of a recoil hose is that you can have a much longer length of hose which only takes up a small amount of space and it is easy to keep tidy. This sprayer has 2.5-metres of hose which is double the length of many of the sprayers within our range. This is a huge benefit, compared to other sprayers, as it gives you flexibility when spraying.

What is the difference between the Profi and Profi Plus sprayers on your site?

To look at the sprayers you wouldn't notice too much difference apart from the colours, the main difference are the seals. The Profi has NBR seals and the Profi Plus has FPM seals. This means that the Profi Plus can handle more acid based chemicals than the Profi so if you are looking to use your sprayer for more acidic corrosive products then you are better to purchase a Profi Plus.

Please explain the hose options for this sprayer?

As standard, this Profi sprayer is supplied with a 2.5-metre recoil hose. This is double the length of the hose supplied with many sprayers and, being a recoil hose, helps to keep things tidy as you aren't trailing a hose around. However, many customers find an even longer hose to be very useful hence the reason for the option of having an additional 5-metre hose with the sprayer. This hose connects in exactly the same way as the standard recoil hose but it obviously gives you the ability to spray whilst not being tied to the tank.

What is the benefit of using an air compressor?

By connecting your sprayer to an air compressor you will have a constant supply of compressed air within the tank meaning that you don't have to stop spraying to fill your tank with air. We have a choice of two accessories for this sprayer, either 0649 or 0746 both of which replace the existing handle on your sprayer and allow you to connect to your compressor.
